Tell us your story

Posted by Daniel Jensen on

Your testimony is the story of God’s work in your life. It is gospel centered and Christ focused. It is the story of how God made you the person you are today. Your testimony helps our church build community by staying connected with each other. During this time of social isolation, CLC would like to get video testimonies of people in our church to build community with each other. If you are wanting to share your testimony, please email with your interest.

With the current state of affairs someone might ask you, “Why do you have hope?” We find in 1 Peter 3:15 that the believer is challenged to be prepared to give an answer for the hope within. While we know that not everyone wants to have themselves recorded in front of a camera, we hope that every believer will be ready to share their story.

So how do you get started in preparing your testimony? Here are some great tips for thinking through your story.

  1. Spend some time praying. Ask God to fill you with the right attitude about your story and challenge yourself to believe in HIS work in your life. Sometimes we get stuck thinking our story isn’t important, or that our experience won’t make a difference in other people’s lives. The truth is your story is really about what God has done in your life. Use this prayer time to let God direct your attitude toward HIS work in your life.
  2. There are three major parts to your story. Telling your story is remembering what your life was like before Christ, how you became a Christian, and what your life is like after becoming a Christian. Each person has a unique story.
  3. When you get stuck remember: In what ways is the Lord real to you and how is he teaching you? What decisions were different because of Christ? What is a bible passage, a song, or a hero that changed your thinking. All you have to do in your testimony is tell the truth about what God has done in you.
