Was it worth it? All those miles. All that time. The persecution! The stoning! The humiliation! We know that Paul and Barnabas thought that every moment of their first missionary journey was extremely valuable by heaven’s standards. As Paul wrote in Philippians 3:8, “He considered everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus his Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things.
