Today we will look at the miraculous circumstances of Peter's midnight rescue from prison in Acts 12. We will also ask the question, why was James allowed to die while Peter was rescued? It is a difficult question, to which there is only one logical answer, the sovereign will of God. For any of us who belong to the Lord, this day might be the last, or it might be the first of thousands more. 

It is good to know that, no matter how difficult the trial or how disappointing the news, God is on the throne and has everything under control. We do not always understand his ways, but we can always be confident that His sovereign will is best.
