The Church at Philippi

It’s a wonderful thing to be a part of a Christian community that is actually living out its reason for existing. It’s a wonderful thing to be a part of a Christian community that puts people before traditions, faith before politics, sacrifice before selfishness. I've been blessed with that sense at our church here on Whidbey and I know the joy it brings. Paul understands that no one, and certainly no church, is perfect. But he exudes the confidence that says that God isn't through with us yet - he is confident that the "one who began a good work among you will bring it to completion by the day of Jesus Christ." So he remembers his friends at Philippi. He prays for them. He expresses his love for them. And in so doing, the temptation to feel lonely or hopeless simply melts away.
