In chapter two, Paul admonishes the Philippian Christians: Live unselfishly as Jesus did, who did not advance Himself. Instead, He lived to help others. When He humbled Himself, God highly exalted Him and He will do the same for you. We must humble ourselves like Christ and put our selfish pride behind us. C.S. Lewis once wrote, “Pride is the mother hen under which all other sins are hatched.” Christ is our great example in how to live and how to love. We must live as He lived and walk as He walked if we want to honor God and make Him known on this earth. If we want to make God happy, we must be unselfish with one another, treating others the way that you would like to be treated.
