Breakfast with Jesus

I would almost bet that a large number of us relate well to the apostle Peter. He tended to do and say whatever seemed best at the moment. He was known as one who would “open mouth and inserted foot” often. At the last supper, he boldly proclaimed to Christ that he would never desert Him. But later that night, as we all know, Peter claimed three times that he didn’t know Jesus! Imagine how he must have felt the next time he saw Jesus. I am sure that he was ashamed and felt like a loser. But Jesus, in typical Jesus fashion turned Peter’s humiliating denial into a wonderful occasion of restoration (John 21). Despite Peter’s flawed past, Jesus restored him to ministry with these words: “Feed My sheep.”

If you have made a “blunder” so big that it seems irreversible, the most important matter is whether you love Jesus. When we love Him, Jesus can turn our most serious blunders into awesome wonders.
